DETAILS OF OCTOBER 18TH NO KINGS PROTEST:
1. Protest from 1:00 - 3:00
LOCATION: Line Broadway downtown Sonoma on both sides. It is essential to stay on the sidewalks for safety and to ensure we can keep roads open for maximum protest visibility.
2. We encourage you to pick a spot on one or the other side of Broadway to make your protest home. We will not do a march, but instead will make an impact with lining the streets..
3. We will not be in the Sonoma Plaza.
4. We will have a Signs of Resistance Procession - please do not follow them, and please DO make room for them as they go through the crowd.

WE WILL BE COLLECTING MUTUAL AID FOR HAS (Homeless Action Services)

HAS is requesting the following:
CLEAN Adult clothing, shoes, socks, sweaters, sweatshirts. New or gently used is best. Bring donations to the AID table on the sidewalk in front of the Plaza to Napa Street. Please bag your donations.

All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation and are working closely with local partners to ensure peaceful and powerful actions nationwide.

Do not engage with possible agitators. Ignore and move away from them. If there is a problem, get help from someone with a monitors vest on, but if there is an emergency call 911. An emergency is an event that threatens health or safety. NOT someone yelling or making gestures at you. We are dedicated to nonviolence.

BREAKING NEWS: The administration is weaponizing hunger in our communities - Rapid and dramatic changes will be taking place to the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and potentially decreasing dramatically on November 1. WE NEED TO BE PAYING ATTENTION. This is being done to put pressure on the democrats to give in to the GOP demands for their budget agenda. Giving in to the GOP budget agenda would be devastating for Medicaid, Medicare and other social services that support our communities. This is another attempt by the GOP to shift the narrative of blame for Government shutdown onto the Democrats as it will directly affect the hungry and food insecure in our nation. This will potentially result in decreased benefits to the tune of one million dollars in benefits in our community.
