Pleasure still arrives- absurdly, like a guest with wine. Pain arrives louder now, pounding on the door with the names of the dead, the stripped rights, the casual cruelty dressed up as policy. And you? you keep answering as if it’s all your fault, as if your nervous system were designed to carry the weight of an empire. But what if this is not your personal failure? What if the chaos— the corruption, the grinding wars, the selling of human life as collateral damage— is weather moving through a collective consciousness that has forgotten how to pause? You are not the storm. You are not the algorithm. You are not the outrage machine that feeds on your exhaustion. You are the stillness that can see clearly without going numb. This, my friend, is equanimity. Not indifference. Not neutrality. Not “both sides.” Not looking away while people are erased, bombed, caged, or dismissed as acceptable losses. And you do it without letting hatred turn you into the very thing you oppose. You love justice without demanding certainty. You speak without hardening your heart. You resist without losing your soul. Reality does not need your approval~ but it does require your presence. And presence is not passive. When you stop fighting the moment, you don’t withdraw from the world— you stand more firmly inside it. Grounded. Clear. Unseduced by spectacle. The secret is not disengagement. It is regulation. Sit.
